A view of the Salthouse Quay, from across the Salthouse Dock, and the adjacent Pump House pub, highlighted by its chimney stack. In the distance, just beyond Mann Island and surrounded by a hive of green-lit cranes, is the Liver Building and the Mersey Tunnel ventilation tower, also lit up in green.

Liverpool is undergoing a massive amount of change at the moment, with areas of intensive development popping up all over the place. We've seen massive new shopping centres, towering office and apartment blocks, new parks, and freshly laid roads, giving Liverpool a more metropolitan feel than it's had for some time. And, as the distant cranes in this shot show, there's a lot more to come. In this little spot on show there's a new museum, that's due to be finished very soon, just visible behind the Pump House chimney; and there will be an exhibition centre, towering office block, apartment buildings and dockside restaurants and cafes appearing there too.
